Joana Melchior’s Attitude Dance Studio is proud to present a very special show dedicated to their youngest dancers and those experiencing the magic of the stage for the very first time. The Mini Showcase is a joyful celebration of growth, confidence, and the love of dance, giving the little stars the opportunity to shine in front of family and friends. Join us for a delightful mix of ballet, jazz, and contemporary performances, where the mini ballerinas and young dancers aged 3–10 years will share all the hard work they have been learning in class. From their first steps in dance to their first bows on stage, this performance is a beautiful milestone in their journey. Filled with smiles, excitement, and unforgettable moments, the Mini Showcase promises to be a heartwarming event for all to enjoy. Come and watch the young performers sparkle on stage as they create memories that will last a lifetime. Featuring special guest performances by the talented Performance Group students.

PUNCHLINE Stand Up Comedy Lab is a new live comedy experience dedicated to discovering, supporting and showcasing emerging stand-up comedians in Mauritius. More than just an open mic, Punchline is a comedy lab designed for aspiring comedians already experimenting with stand-up and developing their own material. It is a space to sharpen ideas, strengthen performance skills and prepare material for the stage in front of a live audience.  

 

Whether you’ve already tested a few jokes at an open mic or you’ve been developing material on your own, Punchline offers the opportunity to refine your comedic voice coached by established Mauritian comedians. Stand-up sets may be performed in English, French or Kreol. 

 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE 

Aspiring comedians are invited to fill in the application form and to submit a short video (maximum 3 minutes) performing an original mini stand-up set.  Applications must be submitted through the official participation form : https://forms.gle/8qKkgFknVusLt2qP8  

A maximum of 10 participants will be selected for each edition of Punchline. 

Selected participants will then join the Stand Up Comedy Lab on 2nd, 3rd and 4th September 2026, where they will work with Lydia None and D-Jok to develop a polished 5-minute set for the live showcase on 5th September 2026. 

 

GUIDELINES 

• Sets may be performed in English, French or Kreol 

• There is no imposed theme 

• Content must remain respectful and suitable for a general audience  

• Vulgarity, hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or content promoting violence based on gender, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation will not be accepted 

Caudan Arts Centre reserves the right not to select submissions that do not align with the values of the institution or the spirit of the event. Applications not submitted through the official platform will automatically be rejected.  

 

D-JOK  

Gregory Thiboudois, better known as D-Jok, is a Mauritian comedian, stand-up artist, actor and content creator of Chagossian origin. Active on social media since 2013, he officially launched his stand-up career in 2014, developing a distinctive style that blends absurd humour, improvisation, everyday satire and characters inspired by Mauritian culture. Over the years, D-Jok has become a familiar face on the local comedy scene, performing with collectives such as Kreol Komedi Klub, L’Apéro Comédie Club and BRJ Baz Artist. Renowned for his energetic stage presence and quick wit, he has established himself as one of the country’s most recognisable stand-up comedians. Alongside comedy, D-Jok began his acting career in 2021 with the film Sime Zetoil. Since then, he has appeared in several successful theatre productions, including Sugar Daddy, Zan ek Zan, Tizan Gato Kanet and Sister Act: The Musical, in which he played the role of Sweaty Eddie. As coach for PUNCHLINE Stand Up Comedy Lab, D-Jok brings his experience as a performer and his passion for helping emerging comedians develop their own voice on stage. 

 

LYDIA NONE  

Lydia None is a Mauritian content creator and performer whose work spans comedy, music, singing and theatre. Best known for her humorous online content and engaging personality, she has recently expanded into the world of stand-up comedy. With her natural charisma, quick wit and ease with audiences, Lydia brings a dynamic energy to every performance. As the host of PUNCHLINE Stand Up Comedy Lab, she will guide audiences through the evening and introduce the next generation of Mauritian stand-up comedians with her signature humour and warmth.

Prenons la mesure du projet…

 

Si Feydeau est aujourd’hui à classer dans la catégorie des « classiques » du théâtre français, il y occupe une place toute particulière.

Son nom semble être devenu le synonyme même de Vaudeville.

 

Et ce projet étant Tailleur pour dames, plus de doutes, quiproquos et situations grotesques deviennent la feuille de route, le cadre obligatoire !

Le plus étonnant, c’est qu’il s’agit de la première pièce en trois actes du jeune Georges Feydeau, alors âgé de 23 ans !

 

Pour lui faire honneur, une équipe de huit artistes qui ont tous dit adieu à leur amour-propre (mais qui le retrouveront ensuite dans les loges).

Nul doute que la petite troupe a bel et bien saisi le sérieux et la profondeur du propos, à savoir :

faire n’importe quoi et surtout, s’amuser, mais avec rigueur et professionnalisme !

Respecter le texte oui, mais aussi assumer une douce folie, voilà bien l’objectif de cette équipée sauvage.

 

Prescription au public : le docteur Moulineaux recommande au public de bien s’échauffer avant le spectacle, car ce genre de Tailleur pour dames ne fait qu’accélérer, jusqu’à son bouquet final !

 

Feydeau, c’est sûr, c’est du sur-mesure !

Pour l’édition 2026, nous avons choisi de placer notre Carte Blanche sous le thème « EARTH », une création originale qui invite à un voyage sensible et poétique au cœur de notre planète, de ses forces naturelles à son humanité, en passant par ses paysages, ses transformations et les enjeux du monde contemporain.

 

Ce spectacle réunira des enfants, des adolescents et des adultes, débutants comme danseurs confirmés, à travers différents styles (danse contemporaine, jazz, classique). Il proposera une succession de tableaux chorégraphiques, portés par l’énergie collective, la diversité des corps et des âges, et le regard artistique de l’équipe pédagogique.

Le Plaisir Tour, c’est bien plus qu’une série de spectacles : À l’origine, une bande d’amis humoristes avec une idée simple : partager leur passion du stand-up et faire rire partout où ils passent. De cette énergie est né le Plaisir Tour, une aventure itinérante mêlant amitié, rire et découvertes.

 

Le Plaisir Tour n’a jamais été aussi grand, aussi vivant, aussi spectaculaire… et c’est enfin à Maurice.

 

Une troupe d’exception

Tom Baldetti
Avec plus d’un million d’abonnés cumulés sur Instagram et TikTok, il s’impose comme l’un des principaux humoristes de la prochaine génération. Devenu l’une des voix montantes du stand-up, il captive le public avec son humour incisif et sa présence magnétique.

 

Léandre
Humoriste à l’autodérision assumée, il transforme son alopécie en véritable signature comique :
« Salut, je m’appelle Léandre, j’ai pas de sourcils, pas de cheveux, mais j’ai un spectacle ».
Une approche directe qui illustre parfaitement son style unique.

 

Yassir BNF
Membre de la troupe du Jamel Comedy Club et révélé dans le programme Comedy Class sur Amazon Prime présenté par Éric Judor et Ramzy Bedia, Yassir a notamment assuré les premières parties de Gad Elmaleh et Roman Frayssinet. Il séduit le public par son humour contemporain et ses personnages décalés.

 

Anthony Giuliani
Formé à la prestigieuse École nationale de l’humour de Montréal, Anthony a parcouru toute la France avec son humour décalé et son charisme naturel. Il a également co-animé un spectacle à l’Olympia avec Oussama Farès et Anas Hassouna.

 

Henry Fexa
Magicien, mentaliste et humoriste, il est l’un des rares artistes à combiner magie et stand-up sur scène. Il mêle illusions interactives et humour pour créer des moments surprenants et inoubliables avec le public.

 

Hugo Le Van
Stand-uper depuis l’âge de 15 ans, Hugo a parcouru de nombreux Comedy Clubs à travers la France. D’origine asiatique, il aborde sur scène les discriminations qu’il a vécues dans son enfance, transformant cette expérience en un humour engagé et percutant.

 

Basile
Membre de la troupe du Jamel Comedy Club, Basile est un habitué des scènes parisiennes. Avec son énergie débordante, ses punchlines affûtées et son sens du contact avec le public, il fait de chaque passage sur scène un moment explosif.

 

Une soirée événement

Le Plaisir Tour à Maurice, ce n’est pas seulement un spectacle de stand-up : c’est une véritable expérience qui mêle spectacle, convivialité et divertissement immersif.

This concert initiated by the Rotary Club of Albion as a fundraiser benefiting children from the Schools of Music in Richelieu and Albion brings an internationally acclaimed young american pianist Baron Fenwick to Mauritian audience.  Baron is a winner of numerous international awards and have been performing with orchestras in various cities around the world.

Importantly, Baron engages in a community service as a vivid music teacher for children and aspiring young artists, including Mauritian children from the Schools of Music in Richelieu and Albion (led by Jean Pierre Madoosing and Lucan Camangue, respectively). The two Schools of Music are supported by the Rotary Club of Albion, in recognition of the positive and formative impact of music from early childhood through life.

This concert offers a unique experience of joy reaching without boundaries to people of good will, promoting solidarity, friendship, support and hope.

Baron Fenwick, together with acclaimed Mauritian artists including Guy Noel Clarisse and Ensemble 415, joined by the children of the School of Music in Richelieu, deliver a delightful programme spanning from the music of celebrated classics to joyful modern interpretations.

 

BARON FENWICK

Baron Fenwick (32) is an internationally renowned pianist currently based in New York, USA. He frequently receives immediate acclaim for his fiercely energetic performances. In addition to a track record of winning international, national, and school-wide competitions, Baron maintains a demanding schedule performing in many prestigious venues in various cities, from New York to Beijing. In 2024, he made his solo debut in Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium performing his own improvisation on themes from Bernstein’s West Side Story, courtesy of the St. Cecelia Chorus of New York. His work as a soloist has developed with reengagements from the Flint Symphony, the South Shore Symphony, the Western Piedmont Symphony, the Chamber Orchestra of Southern Maryland, and the Beijing International Music Festival and Academy, among many others.

His awards and honors are highlighted by the Silver Medal at the 2019 Sendai International Music Competition, as well as first prizes in the Jacob Flier Competition, William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition, Mannes College Concerto Competition, and runner up/alternate in the Juilliard Concerto Competition. Upon graduation from Mannes College of Music, Baron received the Steinway Piano Award and the Felix Salzer Theory Award. He also won a career grant from Salon de Virtuosi, a nomination to the American Pianist Awards, and the Press Award as well as a semi-finalist honourable mention at the Olga Kern International Piano Competition.

Baron has received critical praise over many years, recently this April for his “command,” “lyric backing and elegant rhythm,” (McEneaney, Millbrook Independent) accompanying Leonard Fu, newly-appointed second violinist of the Juilliard String Quartet. His performances encompass a broad range of interests, including classical music and jazz. Baron has been most active in the sphere of new music, giving more than 50 world premieres, and he has enjoyed collaborations with Lowell Liebermann, Caroline Shaw, Julia Wolfe, and Matthew Aucoin. In addition, he is a staff pianist for Juilliard’s Music Advancement Program, and a Teaching Fellow at Juilliard.

Community work: Baron engages in local communities as a vivid music teacher for children and aspiring young artists. He loves collaborating with other musicians, sending the message of uplifting music around the world.

Baron received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mannes College of Music. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctorate of Musical Arts at The Juilliard School in New York City.

Currently living in New York City, Baron originally hails from Boone, North Carolina.

 

 

JEAN PIERRE MADOOSING

Jean Pierre Madoosing is a recorder and trumpet player. He began his career teaching recorder in 1995. The following year, in 1996, he distinguished himself as second soloist in J.S. Bach’s 4th Brandenburg Concerto, accompanied by the Cannes National Orchestra. In 1997, he won a bronze prize at the Eisteddfod International Competition in South Africa. In 2005, he received his diploma in Recorder Performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). From 2010 to the present, he has been actively involved in corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, supporting recorder education for underprivileged children in Richelieu, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Albion. In 2020 he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Pedagogy.

Words take different forms here, from verse to prose, moving between page and voice, across English, French and Kreol.
