Tiroir Aux Souvenirs 4

Le but du projet est de rendre hommage à plusieurs artistes qui ont eu une riche et brillante carrière en leur dédiant une soirée honorifique.

Marie-Josée Clency, Eddy Caramedon, Allan Kaupp, Jean Renat Anamah, Steeve Cunden, Jacqueline Antoine, Jean Dupré, Sam Ramsahye entre autres rejoindront Michel Kwon, Eddy Fok Shan et Michael Cassimally sur scène pour cette troisième édition de tiroir aux souvenirs.

Le Caudan Arts Centre ouvrira ses rideaux pour un véritable clin d’œil à ces artistes qui ont su égayer les tympans du public mauricien.

Un peu plus de deux heures de chansons avec des musiciens de calibre qui ramèneront le public aux souvenirs d’antan en compagnie des aînés de la musique qui ont dépoussiéré beaucoup de préjugés et ouvert la voie à la jeune génération.

MICHEL KWON

Né et élevé au cœur des sonorités vibrantes des années 1950 et 1960, le répertoire de Michel Kwon s’inscrit naturellement dans ces époques dorées. Cependant, il s’aventure avec aisance dans les années 70 et 80, passant sans effort du français à l’anglais. Sa voix est un pont vers une époque révolue, tissant des récits d’amour, de vie et de nostalgie qui résonnent profondément chez ceux qui se souviennent.

Alors que Michel Kwon se prépare pour “Tiroir aux Souvenirs 2026”, sa prestation au Caudan Arts Centre sera bien plus qu’un simple concert. Ce sera un retour aux sources émouvant, une célébration d’une vie où la musique a été une compagne constante, et une offrande sincère de souvenirs précieux à son public mauricien après avoir vécu longtemps en Australie.

Marie-Josée Clency

Marie-Josée Clency (born 1943 in Beau-Bassin Rose Hill, Mauritius) is a legendary Mauritian singer, widely honored as the “reine du séga” (queen of séga). She has a remarkable 65-year career in Mauritian music, making her a “living legend” of the island’s cultural heritage.

She performed for decades alongside her husband Roger Clency, and together they created classic séga albums like Roger Clency et Marie Josée (1984) on Disques Espérance. Even at 80, she continues to inspire Mauritians with her music and enduring passion.

Alan Kaupp

Alan Kaupp (Mario Calou)

Alan Kaupp is a Mauritian singer whose real name is Mario Calou. He was born in 1962 in Port Louis, Mauritius and is often called “our Julio Iglesias” among Mauritians in Paris.

Jean Renat Anamah

Jean Dupré

Jean Dupré is a Mauritian singer and bass guitarist who has been a constant presence in Mauritius’s hotel music scene since the early 1980s. Eddy Caramedon

Eddy Caramedon is a renowned Mauritian singer who became a star of Mauritian music in the 1980s. In 1983, he won the first prize at the RFI 83 “Découvertes” competition with his iconic title “Souvenirs des anciennes paysannes”. Known as a “chanteur à texte,” he skillfully captures words and transforms them into music with subtlety. After years away, he has returned to his native island, releasing new work including the CD “Évasion” and a new roman in 2024. His contributions remain an important part of Mauritius’s iconic musical heritage
