Immerse yourself in a 3-day workshop to explore Hamlet through drama, text and movement. Tailored for enthusiastic young learners aged between 15 and 21 years old, this workshop will enhance your understanding of Hamlet and keep you on your feet! No previous drama experience or knowledge of Hamlet is required, just a desire to jump in and enjoy!

The workshop will be led by Poonam Seetohul, theatre practitioner and experienced educator in drama and literature.
The programme:
DAY 1 Based on building an ensemble, participants will also be looking into Hamlet’s world and famous quotes and soliloquies while being on their feet!
DAY 2 Participants will be led to explore the text further through voice and delivery; This session will also enable participants to develop an audience perspective and be more familiar with dramatic techniques for analysis
DAY 3 Participants will get to explore stage work through rehearsals and a short
performance.
A Certificate of Participation will be provided upon full completion of the workshop.
Participants will need to wear comfortable clothes, bring their own lunch, water and writing material. Though not compulsory, a copy of Hamlet might come in useful too, and why not a pair of non-slippery socks!
Poonam Seetohul
Poonam has been heavily involved in theatre-making in schools and organisations for over 2 decades now, building not only on performance, but on the physical, vocal and emotional expression of participants too. Her approach is eclectic and built on various theatre programmes that she attended in Austria, India, Italy and Mauritius. Her work encompasses productions ranging from the classical to more contemporary genres in English, French and Creole.
