This workshop is designed as a mentoring session led by the experienced artist Max Anish. It offers young participants an immersive exploration of drawing techniques through the use of diverse materials such as pencil, pen, and paint. The session encourages creative freedom while guiding participants through a process of observation, experimentation, and self-expression. It is an opportunity to engage directly with an artist’s practice and gain valuable insight into contemporary drawing approaches.
Max Anish Gowriah is a multidisciplinary Mauritian artist whose work spans drawing, painting, animation, video, photography, and immersive installations. With a background in fashion design from Florence, he blends intuitive gestures with a deep exploration of materials and mediums. His practice moves fluidly between hand-drawn sketches and digital compositions, often navigating themes of identity and emotion. In his workshops, Max creates a space for experimentation, encouraging young participants to explore various techniques and modes of expression in a guided, hands-on environment.
